charlie & i are internet buds who started our medical gender transitions less than a year apart. he entered my life from afar during the good old days of Tumblr, and I felt a kinship from reading his blog and the poetry that he shared from time to time. it was comforting finding corners of the internet where similar minded people shared their thoughts and feelings about what was an incredibly difficult and isolating experience. all these years later, i'm proud of who we've all become.

charlie is having top surgery tomorrow, February 18, 2020, and he still has a little ways to go on his GoFundMe fundraiser. let's make his recovery even better by helping with the financial strain while he takes 8 weeks off from his job as an EMT to fully recover. he's had so many setbacks on the road to getting this surgery, and I'm so happy that it's finally happening for him.

ALL proceeds from this song will go to charlie until he's healed up from his surgery + aftercare appointments. After that, I'll continue to use the proceeds to make anonymous donations to random surgery fundraisers as they pop up on my radar. this song will eventually be on spotify/apple music/youtube etc. so you can listen more freely, but for now, let's do this for him.

I was given life on this day, and every day afterward. I'm so fucking proud to be trans. It takes courage, bravery, and trust in yourself, to really respect and honor your identity. We know exactly who we are, and that's more than I can say for a vast majority. It's been a blessing to become myself and to share my growth with you."
